After attending The Ohio State University, Dave began his career at Rommel Electric Company, which was started by his father in 1956 in Salisbury, Maryland. He has earned Master Electrician licenses in Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. Under his direction, the company developed specialties in medium and high voltage work, airport systems and lighting, and highway lighting, traffic signal, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. That led to the formation of Rommel Engineering and Construction, Inc. in 1988, a Maryland statewide highway lighting and signal contractor now located in Linthicum, Maryland. In 2011, he acquired the assets of LH Cranston & Sons, a 62-year-old Mechanical & Electrical Contractor based in Baltimore. The Farfield Company was added to his portfolio in 2014.
